The deadline has been extended from March 31, 2022, to March 31, 2023. People will have to pay an amount of Rs 1,000 to get started with the linking process.
PAN-Aadhaar link: How to Do
Step 1: Visit the Income Tax e-filing portal i.e. https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/.
Step 2: Go to the Register option. Your PAN will have a user ID.
Step 3: Enter your user ID, password, and date of birth.
Step 4: A popup will be shown with a prompt to link PAN with Aadhaar.
Step 5: Check all PAN details to the ones on your Aadhaar card.
Step 6: If the information is correct, Enter your Aadhaar number and click the option that reads ‘link now’.
Step 7: A pop-up message will be displayed on the screen that will show that your Aadhaar has been successfully linked to your PAN.
